The Home Buying Process The buying process can be at best frustrating and cumbersome, at worst an emotional roller coaster. My goal is to try and make the process the best it can be. The best way to make the process a happy and successful one is to go into it with a plan.
The list could go on but the point is to think of all the answers upfront, make a plan and then select target homes. That is where I come in. I will help you to evaluate your needs and find the right property to meet them. The first thing we will do is arrange any financing you need for the new home. This should be done up-front. I ask all my clients to not just pre-qualify (which just means based on a 2 minute phone call with a lender you "seem" to be able to get a loan) but to get pre-approved (which means ALL forms and verification are completed and you have a loan pending appraisal) so you can be in the strongest position possible when negotiating your home. Next we will get together and form our plan. I will suggest some areas to consider based on your needs and price range. Then we will go over the different types of houses that typically are available and we will start the search. I will narrow the search results to the top choices and we will review these and set up a time to see them. Often the first showing is reconnaissance more than anything as it allows you to see what the market is offering and helps me to more clearly define the search. The 2nd trip out you will likely see homes that are of great interest and many customers find one suitable to make an offer on. Next I will go to work creating our written offer, explaining the details to you and presenting the offer. We will then setup inspections and prepare to close. This is where allot of behind the scenes work is done to make the transaction happen as smoothly as possible. My team in conjunction with your home inspector, mortgage lender and closing attorney will put all the necessary items together to get the sale closed. All you have to do is pack! |
